O Lord and Master of my life! Take from me the spirit of sloth, faint-heartedness, lust of power, and idle talk. But give rather the spirit of chastity, humility, patience, and love to thy servant. Yea, O Lord and King! Grant me to see my own errors and not to judge my brother; For Thou art blessed unto ages of ages.

Amen

RIP Brian Jacques

"Matthias cut a comical little figure as he wobbled his way along the cloisters, with his large sandals flip-flopping and his tail peeping from beneath the baggy folds of an oversized novice's habit."
Redwall (Redwall, Book 1)
And so begins the tale of the novice little mouse, Matthias, his wise Father Abbot
Mortimer, Cornflower the pretty field mouse, and the horrible Cluny the Scourge.  What a treat these books have been to read.  My eldest, Lucy,  whizzed through them and Max prefers the read alongs.  He especially likes it when momma uses the voice for Cluny...snarls and all.

Tonight is a Redwall tribute 'read-a-thon'.
A tribute for Mr. Brian Jacques who passed away on the evening of February 5th.

He left us with many tales to enjoy over and over again
Just so you know, the story line wouldn't be appropriate for the real young ones.  Max is 9 and we started reading them together last year.

(I highly recommend the audio version to Redwall.  It's wonderful!)
